Legendary Telangana Folk Singer Gaddar’s Heartbreaking Demise – Fans Devastated!

Gummadi Vithal Rao (77), also known as Gaddar, a well-known balladeer and former ideologue of the Maoist party, has passed away on Sunday afternoon after a short illness. He is survived by his wife Vimala, two sons Surya and Chandra and a daughter Vennela.

Decline in Health Despite Successful Bypass Surgery

He was suffering from a serious heart ailment and was admitted to the hospital on July 20. Despite successful bypass surgery on 3 August, his health declined due to age-related problems as well as lung and urinary infections.

A Short History

Gaddar was born in 1946 at Toopran in Kamareddy district (formerly Medak) of Telangana. Before venturing into “revolutionary politics”, he worked in Canara Bank in 1975. He was the founder of Jana Natya Mandali, a cultural group affiliated with the People’s War Group of Naxalites, which later evolved into the Communist Party of India (Maoist).
