Landslides and floods claims lives in South Korea ; Around 26 dead

Landslides and floods claims lives in South Korea ; Around 26 dead, Rescue operations ongoing.

Heavy rains have caused devastating floods and landslides in South Korea, killing around 39 people and leaving others missing across the country.

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has ordered an all-out rescue and recovery operation after the disastrous floods and landslides.

In South Korea, heavy rain has caused a lot of problems. Twenty-six people have died, and many others have had to leave their homes because of landslides and flash floods. Ten people are still missing, and nine have been injured in the rain.

Landslides – the main cause of deaths.

Most of the deaths happened in North Gyeongsang Province, where landslides were the main cause. The flooding has also damaged roads, houses, and farmland. Across the country, over 5,566 people had to leave their homes and find temporary shelter by Sunday.

Extreme weather –  claiming lives around the globe

Earlier this month, we saw heavy downpours in southwest China, killing at least 15 people due to floods.
