Japan to release Fukushima’s Radioactive water into ocean

Japan plans to release Fukushima’s Radioactive water into the ocean before the end of the summer. The United Nations agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has recently given approval to release over a million tonnes of radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

The pending release received criticism from surrounding nations, including South Korea and China. The agriculture and fishing industries of Fukushima are likewise concerned about potential harm to the natural environment and fishing sector.

The IAEA authorised the Japanese discharge plans last week, stating that they will adhere to international safety requirements and have a minimal negative impact on the environment and human health.
