Tokyo: According to the meteorological office, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook Japan’s central Ishikawa area on Friday, although no tsunami warning was issued. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres at 2:42 PM (05:42 GMT), according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

In Suzu City, Ishikawa, the earthquake was recorded as an upper six on the Japanese Shindo scale of up to seven, which might result in significant landslides. Japan is prone to earthquake as it is in the “rings of fire” which is high seismic zone.
