Another horrifying incident : Two Tribal women stripped naked and harassed for theft

After a viral video (link below) showing tribal women parading naked in riot-hit Manipur, another similar video has emerged, this time from Malda in West Bengal. In recent times, worrying incidents of crime against women are emerging from different parts of the country.

The Incident

The horrific occurrence happened early on July 19th in Malda. The video shows a horrifying scene where two women were brutally attacked and humiliated in public view in Pakuahat area. Local women accused the victims of theft, which led to a violent attack.

In the video, several women are seen tearing the clothes of the victims as they desperately try to protect their dignity by clinging to each other. What is even more shocking is around a crowd of over 100 people, no one intervened to help the victims.

These incidents highlight the urgent need to address the issues of gender-based violence in the society and create a safe environment for women.
