Air India suspends Tel Aviv flights amid Israel-Hamas conflict

In response to the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict, Air India has announced to suspend all flights operating from Tel Aviv until at least October 14, 2023, prioritizing passenger and crew safety. The decision comes as tensions rose after Hamas fighters launched attacks near the Gaza Strip, prompting Israel to declare war on October 7.

Assistance for affected passengers

Air India is now committed to providing assistance to affected passengers with confirmed bookings for the canceled flights. The airline, which normally operates five weekly flights to Tel Aviv, has canceled all services for the duration of the suspension.

As the conflict has intensified, casualties on both sides have increased, with more than 300 reported dead. The airstrikes in the Gaza Strip prompted a forceful response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the terrorist attacks and expressed solidarity with Israel.

The situation remains volatile, and the international community closely monitors developments in the region.
